How to Wear
1. Open all hook fasteners and slide thumb into thumb hole. Wrap support around
hand and secure fastener at the base of wrist, then secure thumb strap.
2. Wrap long strap around wrist and secure. Adjust all fasteners until fit feels
firm, yet comfortable.
3. The metal stays can be adjusted to accomodate recommended positioning, or removed
completely for more moderate support.
Care Instructions
To wash, remove both metal stabilizers through slits at the base of the support,
and secure all fasteners. Hand wash with mild soap in warm (not hot) water. Rinse
well and air dry.
DO NOT: machine wash, tumble dry, dry clean, or use bleach or fabric softeners.

Rated 4 out of 5 by skysdaughter FUTURO THUMB STABILIZER The reason I wear the stabilizer is to prevent pain that occurs when I pinch something using my thumb and forefinger together. The plastic splints in the stabilizer do the job. However my arthritis has caused swelling of the basal joint. So the OT removed the outer spints and substituted slightly more flexible plastic.The biggest problem is the hook and loop tape; it is so difficult to remove that if I use thumb and forefinger, it causes severe pain. the OT and my husband both think the hook and loop tape is hard for them to remove. I end up using my teeth to pull off the wrist wraps. It is a real problem that needs to be addressed. January 16, 2013

Most games on this machine require the user to hold a remote control. On the first day I tried it, I played for about 20 minutes and then went on to my normal day of much keyboarding. By the end of the day, my thumb joint was killing me. An online search revealed this was a common problem (I now put the controller in my pocket when playing) and a thumb stabilizer was suggested.I bought the Futuro Deluxe Thumb Stabilizer and wore it pretty much 24/7 for the first two days (while avoiding the Wii). It held my thumb in a less painful position and kept me from moving it in dangerous ways. I still had to keyboard and found it easy to do while wearing the stabilizer. My thumb joint pain diminished. Now I wear the stabilizer when I am concerned my activity might irritate the thumb (like while playing Wii games) and it prevents the problem from reoccuring.
